A few weeks ago I ordered a new exercise program. I knew it would be challenging and heard from a few friends who had tried it once and vowed to never do it again. Needless to say I was scared and looked at the beautifully decorated box everyday thinking I should just pop the darn thing in the DVD player and get it over with.
Nothing. That’s what I’ve done for the past few weeks.
Then January first and second came and went. Still no exercise program.
Yesterday I finally put the darn thing in and was shocked that I was able to finish half of the program.
There were no scary, god awful exercises.
It was just me and the tape having a good time until I felt a little nauseous and had to stop.
What I realized after the workout is that every time I think I don’t feel like doing something that will move me closer to attaining one of my goals (being physically fit) all I need to do is remember that it’s the New Year and I get to make different choices.
Once I realized that old decisions equal old outcomes I got the courage and motivation I needed to welcome new outcomes. In this case it’s a really sore body.
Just remember – “If you do what you’ve always done, you’ll get what you’ve always gotten” – Anthony Robbins.
